First of all you are not sick. it is all too easy for people to make these normal human states into illness.

lots of people feel the same way. it isnt an illness dont go to the doctor for medication. accept who you are and that this a part of who you are.

if it bothers you to be this way then you can elect to change that but may need help, you can get help from a psychlogist and here in Australia recent changes to medicare laws means your local doctor can refer you to a psychologist and you are entitled to some sessions with the psychologist that can be bulk billed.

It would all come down to how old you are and how long you've felt lonely? There are too many determining factors that one cannot determine. If you're 30 years old and still feel this way, then I would say you need some counseling to see what you can do. If you're still just a teenager in highschool or middle school, then I would say you'll grow out of it. It also depends on how frequently you feel lonely and if you ever feel happiness any longer. If you're concerned you should seek professional advice.

it's not a habit, it's a condition. It may be social anxiety disorder which makes it uncomfortable for you to be around people, especially if you don;t know them well. There is good medication for this. Paxil is one. Go to the doctor, your life can be much better.
