The satellite images on Google earth are not live.
They are static (taken months, usually years, ago)

You can see satellite image of the world through Google Earth database

most images on satellite maps sites are at least a couple of years old.. another good site like google earth is www.virtualearth.com it has great 3-D features.. you download the program just like google earth. and your off

download google earth softwere from google site and install it on your pc.
