In NY, how can a 1972 will be thrown out?

What are ground to possibly disqualify a 1972 will in NY State, now, in 2006?

Compentancy of the person at the time the 1972 will was created and/or a change in the legal heirs (but this is a tough fight).

I am from ny and I believe the only way is for the person that made the will, make a new one. The new one over rides the earlier one.
