Copyright? I want to gather stories/articles from the web and put them onto one page?

I want to create a site where it's a one stop shop for stories and articles on a particular subject....as long as I give credit to the author or source will I be ok, I will not steal original content, but rather gather it...is this legal?

Giving credit is NOT sufficient! You must have the explicit permission of the owner of the content BEFORE you can copy it to your site.

I agree with Bostonian.

I do however believe that most website owners would give permission if they know credit will be given and the stories will form part of a larger collection of the same genre.
