Someone took out 3 thousand dollars from my CitiBank savings account. I have called Citibank 3 different times. They finally said they would send me paper work to fill out to claim it was a fraud. After that what happens? Do I get my money credited back? How long should that take? Has anyone else had this problem with Citibank e-Saving accounts?

You must have pened a false email asking you to log in to your account via a link provided in the email.... bad move.

Do not open any email sent from banks or what seem to be emails sent from banks. If ou need to be contacted your financial institution will send you a formal letter.

Generally you should have some sort of protection provided by the institution on your account,a lthough the claim will most likely take a long while to be processed. Anywhere from couple of weeks to even months.

Definitely complete the proper paper work to have this incident investigated ... your bank should have safeguards in place that deal with this effectively and that cover you if such things should happen.

You most definitely should obtain your money back if it is found that a fraudulent withdrawal was made without your knowledge or consent. They must have insurance to cover such incidents and if they don't, you might consider switching to a bank that does.

I haven't dealt with this particular bank but any bank that has ebanking should have the means to ensure its customers are covered in such cases.

Good luck with this but be prepared for a little bit of work in order to gain back what you have lost.
