ABC's "The Nine"...why did it get canceled?

Question

OK, I already know the answer...low ratings. But it was one of the few new series worth following. Great acting, suspenseful, well-produced...and now it's gone mid-season? Does the Mickey Network really have their heads THAT far up their a$$es?

Did anyone else other than me watch or follow this show? Comments, good or bad?

You're not the only one who screamed bloody murder. At least "ABC says the show will return sometime later this season but is offering no specifics."

This happens a lot: critically acclaimed shows, for whatever reason, don't attract enough of the right kind of the people, and the show gets scrapped.

The issue is that TV networks must essentially sell you, the audience, to commercial advertisers. If too few people watch the show, that means too few people are watching the commercials (which translates into lower sales for the advertisers). And the advertisers are responsible for the network's paycheck. So it's in the network's best interest to cancel the show - whether it was good or not, the bottom line is the dollar.

It's unfortunate, but that's Western society for you.

Bad news for me and all the followers of that show. I don´t watch the adverteisment, because i Tivoed all the shows, and then fast forward the advertisment, so that was not an issue for me, but...

I wanna know what really happen in the bank. The story was good, the performances were good, it was a nice show. It´s a shame.

On wednesdays, it was the only good alternative after Bones. Ok, Day Break is Ok, but seems like the ratings are low, so i don´t expect the show to continue more time.

My daughter told me The Nine was cancelled just as I was about to settle in for tonight's show. Ok, so add that to Invasion (we both got sucked into that last year), Kidnapped (love that show, can't wait til Friday) and maybe Friday Night Lights as three great shows that weren't given a decent shot (though I think FNL is still ok for now airing-wise). It drove me nuts when they cancelled Invasion last year and replaced with The Nine, but having Tim Daly back on with a great cast was enough to win me over. Thank god for TIVO, at least it will make sure I don't miss it when The Nine comes back on! (either that or steal my daughter's Ipod!)

i'm hoping so! I stay in united statesa. and the stunning element we favor is Mexican Humor with each and every of the unlawful Mexicans pouring into this usa that's purely yet another draw for the placement of unlawful immigration and there is no longer something humorous about that!

Yes they do, as they expect the show to do "X" amount good in the ratings and the networks are not willing to let a show find its audience

I liked the show...but I knew it wouldn't last. For some reason people just don't like to follow a good story line. I was gettin hooked. You know if it doesn't have enough sex and violence it won't last.

I watched, and didn't realize that it was cancelled until I tuned in tonight. I am so sad..... I loved this show. I am so mad that they can't atleast finish off the season on iTunes or something. I wouldn't mind paying. arrrrgggg..... I am just so mad right now!

i didn't know it got canceled!!!! i love that show! it was one of my favorite new shows! i cant believe it's gone! there were so many good actors. i love scott wolf. now, we'll never know what really happened in that bank.
