there one of the best running engines out there right now,,i haven't seen many of them run bad unless they was blown up,but there easy to build up also,and the parts are really cheap for them that's why their is so many of them on the road today ,,good luck,they also win a lot of nascar races.

Smallblock 350's run great. The chevy 350 (crate motor) is one of the best motors you can get. You might here people say oh they are no good but those are the people that do not know anything about them and don't know how to take care of anything (mostly ford people..lol). Very great motor and highly recommended.

After 40 years they made the vortec heads that flowed better , then they quit making 350's and when to a new style ls motor.

they have spark plugs and compression due to having pistons and rings and valvesand a camshaft, they run with fuel, called gasoline, unless you convert it to some other fuel type
just like all other internal combustion engines
theres a kaboom of fuel and air mixture in the cylinders and this explosion creates force on the top of the pistons which are connected to the crankshaft by a big rod and this turns the engine

will depend on where you are getting it from....
from the junk yard, from $100 up to 700 plus.
from auto zone or o'reileys 775. plus
a target motor from gm about a grand
your buddy down the street, probily a good price BUT watch that he does not stick it to you..
