You are a bit late, where were you for the last eight years? The € (Euro) started functioning on the 1st January 1999 as a new monetary unit. This is nearly eight years ago. The actual bills and coins have been introduced in January 2002. To our utter dismay, the US $ (Dollar) is loosing big against the Euro.
