I know this isn't an answer to your question, but most of these answers suck. The only two movies that apply are "Harold and Kumar" and Chow Yun Fat in "The King and I".
-All of Jackie Chan's movies are Martial Arts movies.
-Pat Morita wasn't a leading man in "Happy Days" or "Karate Kid" (which was a M.A. movie)
-Jack Soo was in a supporting role on "Barney Miller"
-Brandon Lee's movies were all M.A. movies.
-Ken Leung wasn't a leading man.
-Dat Phan and Bobby Lee aren't leading men.
-George Takai was in a supporting role on Star Trek.
The only example of an American movie with an Asian-American lead I can think of is Jason Scott Lee in "The Jungle Book" (1994). He played the lead role of Mowgli. It isn't a martial arts role, but it might as well be, he runs around with his shirt off, jumping and bouncing around in the jungle...very PC.
Daniel Dae Kim plays a very prominant role on "Lost" which has no martial arts. He has had whole episodes as the leading man. Although he isn't a martial arts hero, there is an element of violence to his character as an inforcer for his mafia don father-in-law. One could easily make the argument that both of these examples fail to fit the requirements of your question for different reasons...

You can try the Internet Movie Database website. You can try typing Asian American in the search or typing in movies with Asian actors. From there a list pops up with the names of all the actors and actresses that appear in the movie or television show. By clicking on their name, you can find out when and where they were born and any other information you might need. Did you try typing Asian American actors in a seach engine? That might be tedious but it might be easier than searching the imdb website.
Sorry if this isn't very helpful.

I hate martial arts because i do not favor to fall into the stereotype. ... wait, no i do not hate martial arts. yet nonetheless, i believe that is the reason that some Asian individuals might want to attempt to distance themselves from it. yet even better so, you've were given to figure, no longer easily everyone (inspite of ethnicity) will like martial arts, nor will they inevitably have respect for it. And as others have said, i don't experience like martial arts is the in straight forward words correct ingredient of Asian way of existence. (besides the actual undeniable actuality that that, and foodstuff, are the in straight forward words elements that i'm extremely in contact in.) i'm constructive that Asian individuals searching to save in contact with their way of existence will hunt down non-combative parts of it. Martial Arts (from anyplace) haven't got a tendency to interest the conventional human being sufficient for them to practice -- no matter if African, Anglo, or Asian.

Chow Yun Fat was in a movie with Mira Sorvino... the movie was called The Replacement Killers. It was about a hit man who was hired to kill a man's young son. It's a great movie, and if there are any martial arts, they certainly aren't the focal point of the movie. It's mostly a lot of gun action.
