Our vet told us to buy timothy hay pellets for out bunnies, so that's what we buy. It doesn't have anything else in it; only the pellets.
We recently found another kind of food that has the timothy hay pellets plus dried veggies and maybe nuts and fruits. I'm wondering if it's unhealty or fattening to feed a rabbit that kind of food every day. They each only get 1/4 cup of pellets, along with their other foods, each day. I also read that feeding them pellets mixed with other things can lead to pickiness and not eating some parts of the pellets.
Any advice would be appreciated. :)

The plain pellets are best. They will pick out the tasty bits if you give them a mix and I really don't think all manufacturers are particular about what they use.

If you want to vary the rabbits diet a little try giving them some fresh herbs like basil, mint, parsley, rocket, rosemary and thyme. Dandelions and grasses from the garden are great, just make sure they're not sprayed.

Just stick with the plain pellets, if this is an adult rabbit, the pellet should be low in protein (about 14%) and high in fiber. The other colorful stuff is just junk, and they'll pick it out because it tastes better to them. When you say other foods, make sure you're including rabbit safe veggies and unlimited timothy hay.
Here's a great resource. http://www.rabbit.org/journal/3-4/pellets.html

What I found with the mixed food is my bunny stopped eating the timothy hay pellets so a lot of food went to waste

Rabbits often pick out the tasty bits and leave the pellets. I use just the pellets, plus timothy hay, and every day i give my rabbit something fresh, a carrot, or a bit of lettuce. That way, he gets plenty of variety

When I had rabbits I prefered to feed them a varied diet as they would eat if they were wild. This included fresh fruits and veggies, hay, grass, and pellets in the winter. Ask someone at a petshop, or the breeder you got him from. They would have helpful suggestions as well.

Yep your right they do become picky and fat My DIl was feeding her rabbit Yogurt pellets with the food he would pick them all out and that's all he wanted to eat. Took me a week for him to start eating right again Its also very bad for there heart if they get to fat.
Try to get blocks for them to chew and to keep there teeth filed down also get them a metal cat ball to throw around they have a ball playing with it You can get that at pet smart. They need to excercise too be hande as well. plus they need a salt lick too..

You can litter box train them too.just like a cat.

Only feed the timothy hay the dried fruits and nuts are fatty and will make your bun unhealthy. http://www.rabbit.org
