*check mean to bring, or to come to a stand.

check out mean to settle the bill and leave a hotel.

check up mean to have a medical examine...

As far as I am concerned the word 'check" can be used as a verb, as a noun and as a phrase: -

As a verb: -

1. Examine the accuracy, quality, or condition of
2. Stop or slow the progress of
3. Chess move a piece or pawn to a square where it directly attacks (the opposing king).

As a noun: -

1. An examination to check accuracy, quality, or condition.
2. An act of checking progress.
3. A means of control or restraint.
4. Name for the bill in a restaurant.

As phrases: -

Check in:

1. Register at a hotel or airport.
2. Have (one’s baggage) weighed and put into the hold of an aircraft.

Check out:

1. Settle one’s hotel bill before leaving.
2. Establish the truth of or inform oneself about.

Check up:

1. Investigate. (By doctor etc.)

All three words give almost the same meaning but their usage differs. Let me explain this with examples.
Check is basically a verb. That is it signifies an action.
eg:- I will check this paper for mistakes

Check out is a phrase which is commonly used when referring to travel arrangments.
eg:- I checked out of the hotel an hour ago.
And also as an exclamatory word(!).
eg:- Check this out dude..!

Check up is sometimes used as a noun.
eg:-The doctor finished the medical check-up and left early.
But all three words have their root in the check verb.

Check means to examine , check out means to leave, and check up is what you go to the DR. for.
