You have to make a choice. Nothing sucks more than being somewhere you don't want to be. (You wouldn't happen to be in the middle of Kansas, would you? I did that. It sucked.)

You have to decide if you are going to make the most of the shi**y situation, or if you are going to do what you really want to do.

If you want to go somewhere else, you'd better start applying and seeking financially aid now. Stand up to your parents and tell them that it is YOUR education, and you want to be happy. Or, if you haven't already done so, sit down with them and have an adult conversation about this. They might just listen if you are calm and rational about it.

If you are to stay where you are, start looking for classes that you would enjoy. Seek out what things you could do for fun. How close is the biggest city? Are there any clubs you could join?

You have to make the most of what you have if you can't get what you want. :)

You learn not to hate it when you realize without a degree how much more at a disadvantage you are than other people with a degree. That is unless you have some artistic or musical talent that is going to make you rich.

I hated college and dropped out after two years...had a job that made okay money, but nothing to write home about.

The company i work for has tuition reimbursement...free money for school, so knowing how much I hated college the first time, I re-enrolled and worked five more years taking classes here and there until I finally graduated with a degree.

Well my financial situation has drastically improved since I got that degree. I went from making about 28k a year to now making 56k a year. Those increases were directly related to me having that piece of paper.

It's a necessary evil and one I would put myself through again.

Maybe your parents can't afford anywhere else. Look I
don't know what you are going to school for but if you are miserable at that school, check other schools, apply for grants, loans or get a job if it will help. You'll have to decide that but don't be so hard on your parents.
