I am a Canadian and I feel most Americans are great people but you have a problem with the Bush Administration and their arrogance. The PNAC-Project For a New American Century is the biggest problem and will create a threat to the World if the likes of Dick Cheney, Jeb Bush, Don Rumsfeld and others are allowed to continue in politics.
I do not find many on Yahoo Answers who even know about this organization but you should wake up and see where these people want to take the United States in the future.

Dubya represents SOME of the 5% of the whole world population that owns 95% of the world's wealth. (In which case, he ain't representing me, you or a dog named Blue!)
Unfortunately, when a "majority" of the people in this country pick their leader every four years (and it's a matter of opinion still: Did a majority choose Dubya???) he is the face, the voice, the mindset of the US to the whole world. Right now that face is pretty disgusting to a lot of people in the world--and here, too.
I think our arrogance and belief that we have "God on our side" has led people to hate us for a long time. But you're right; it's getting worse, and we are slipping from "grace" on a daily basis. As the current government takes away more and more of the things that the US has supposedly stood for over the years, we just look like foolish bullies. Like the ancient Romans, I think that we are heading for a fall.

Just because idiots overseas hate us dosen't mean that it is because of Bush. People overseas have envied us long before Bush came along. He is just an excuse to keep fostering hatred twords our wonderful Country, who has done nothing but bend over backwards for years to help everyone else out, and now they want our help in Somalia. Will someone hate us for going over there and stemming the slaughter of millions there too? You bet. Are we going to give a ****? No, because we are going to keep doing the right thing.

Where did you get this information?
Americans have always been called names including boorish.
I do not feel misrepresented anymore than with Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford,Carter, & Clinton. Presidents are human & I have lived through all their mistakes.

If you consider the war in Iraq was already a questionable decision prior to his reelection, and yet he still won, he must have got the impression that a majority of Americans were backing him (and at the time he did), since then, however, with the midterm elections and the Republicans getting routed, I expect the president to lean more towards center and try to save his reputation.

Bush represents a certain type of American voter.....
Up to you to decide if that's a good thing or not.
