Im Looking forward into being a pharmacist. im in the 12th grade and have a 3.5 GPA average. Im probably going to attend the school of pharmacy at USC. About how many years of school alltogether does a pharmacist have to go for (college, pharmacy school, training, experience,ETC.) And can you please explain the Pharm D Degree. How many years of school is that for.? Thanks and 10 ptz for best answer....

The best case scenario says 6 years, but many take 8 years to complete the PharmD degree.
PharmD means doctor of pharmacy.
You'll have to go to school for at least 2 years of prereqs, and than 4 years of pharmacy school.
There are some schools which accept students directly from high school.

A friend of mine totaled 8 years. 10 years to earn Doc. degree. Great life style @ age 35. Averages $46 per hr.
