I smoked for 26 years. I smoked at least a pack a day and sometimes more if I was having a bad day. Then several months ago my insurance company sent me a notice that they were raising the rates of all smokers by $100.00 per month. I decided that was my cut off point. It was one thing to pay 4 bucks a day to smoke but it another to pay 100 bucks a month on top of that for the right to smoke. So I just stopped. I don't know how, I had tried many times in the past and couldn't but this time I did. I have a heart condition so I couldn't use any stop smoking aids.

But I did do it and haven't had a smoke since before August. Pretty good huh? I have added a few lbs to myself but its nice to always smell good and I got to buy all new clothes. Still looking for the downside but haven't found it yet.

I have smoked for about 15 years now and I literally started because of a MAN! He dared me and I was stupid and lit one up. Since then smoking has calmed my nerves when I was really upset about something. It did NOT help me stop eating! People always talk about what they don't know! Ok, for ME it didn't have anything to do with food. It became a habit that was very HARD to break. But, I have decided to quit smoking, today is the FIRST day and it's been great, so far. I'm going cold turkey, did it before and it's the best way for me. Wish me luck and thanks!

Many women smoke for many reasons...or for no apparent reason at all. They smoke because they just feel like doing it...as a fad...some do smoke when they have lot of worries...hoping that every wreath of smoke that comes out will take tons of their worries...others smoke because they are energize by the smell (each of us has our own peculiarity). Then a lot of women smoke out of habit forming...that later on become a vice...and a consolation for their problems. Smoke for women is the only cheap ally aside from wine...and a best friend ... where they can readily turn to ...when things are going rough for them.

yes, I've noticed it. While the number of men who smoke has decreased, the number of women who smoke has increased.

This is because men, getting data, make a rational decision to not smoke, and, women, being stupid, don't pay attention to the data.

Smoking is not attractive at all, especially for women. I don't know why so many women think that it is.
