Neither,,,get a camper & use the pool @ the camp grounds.
A pool is more than a hole in the ground with water in it, it'a a maintenance nightmare. Every couple of days you have to check the chlorine level,if it's off, NO SWIMMING untill it's corrected, you have to make sure no debris gets into it, you have to keep the filter clean. Because of evaporation, you have to add water every so often.
In many ares, you have to have a fence around it, so no small kids can get to it and drowned.
If you live in a cold climate, You have to prepare it for Winter and you must have a cover.
Ok now the boat, I used to build yachts so I know a little about boats. "A boat is a hole in the water you pour money into"
1st of all, where are you going to keep it when you not using it??
2nd, insurance, repacement insurance is way to high, so forget that. Also, it has to be insured even when you can't use it.
3rd, Maintenance, It has to be washed after ever use. If it's fibreglass, It has to be polished @ least twice a year., If you "Ding" the fibreglass, that can be a ***** to fix depending on how bad it is.
4th, What are you going to use it for ? Fishing ?? or a party boat ?? when your wife finds out it's more fun to water ski than fish, your fishing days are over with.
5th, Fuel / oil, If the engine isn't a 4 cycle, you'll have to carry oil with you.
# 6, Resale,,when you tired of it or it's too small, will you get what it's worth ?
Buy a camper & pull a boat,,,,,,,,,,,,,lol

Well now... a swimming pool takes up a lot of space in the yard that could be used for gardening and such... and if there are trees nearby, digging the hole could damage the roots and kill them. If not, the nearby trees will shed into the pool, and their roots might crack the pool some day.
To keep the pool clean, you, or someone will have to scrub it of algae, check the pH level, and scrape out the leaves constantly. The water may attract local animals, which can get trapped under the cover if you use that, and of course, if you drain the pool, skateboarders might come over for some eighties style "Blinging the Cube" action.
Besides, if you want to entertain guests, they will consider you to be a slob if the pool is not spotless. This all adds up to a lot of maintenace for something you can only use half of the year.
With a boat on the other hand, you take it out, run it around, then you bring it home, "winterize" it, and it gets tucked away into the garage where nobody can see it.
Really now though: Don't you think a pool would offer you more chances to skinny dip with your wife? No, well, maybe the two of you can compromise, and get a hot tub in a secluded corner of the yard.

Depends on where you live I guess. If it near water I say get a boat. If not, get the pool....
We have a 26' Hewes Craft fishing boat & we use it EVERY chance we get!!!!! Of course here in Alaska a swimming pool would be a hassle. It would cost a mint to keep it heated during the winter....
Get the boat!!!

My fiance sells boats. That's how we met. He sold me one. A 195 Bayliner. He curently has a pontoon. Boats are great. We have tons of marina friends and we go on eachothers boats. Been around boats for years. We love it! As far as a pool, that's boring. Swim around and sit around on a chair. Pools are great on vacation in Mexico but I liked deep sea fishing instead. I am a female by the way!!!

i would def. pick the boat over the pool. yea you can use the pool prolly way more, but i would just love taking the boat out and being out there on the water. it would be way more fun than a pool. im sure you know people that have pools and you can just swim in theres with them. i'd def. pick the boat

Boats are a huge pain in the tush.
If you want a boat rent one and let the other fellow have the liability

confident, I even have an older 32 foot crusing sloop that I sail from Marina Del Rey, CA to Catalina Island various circumstances a month. the outstanding difficulty a pair of crusing vessel is you employ the wind for ability and you save a equipment on gasoline which you as we talk pour back into the upkeep of the boat. additionally I in basic terms swim interior the sea and by no ability in a pee pool for glaring motives. I kinda like each of your questions Cowgirl.

Boats have to tagged, every year. The trailer has to be tagged. The sun and the birds will ruin the upholstery. Gas will eat you alive. Your friends will want to borrow it, and you will never have time to use it.
