Let's think about this:
Airplanes = way to travel, faster than car, more efficient than car, can travel over oceans and anywhere on Earth...
Transportation = Travel, cars, buses, boats, airplanes, roller skates, skateboards, bikes, jets, running, walking, skiiing, etc.
How did inventing AIRPLANES change transportation, i.e. TRAVEL? This seems pretty obvious to me... I hope this helps.

particularly the did no longer invent the assumption of a heavy than air flying gadget. recommendations for this have been around because of the fact the beginning up of the Resianance Peroid, with Leinardo's being between the main universal. Up until the time the Wright Brothers first able "flight", there have been many inventors attempting to create there own, yet with the Wright have been the 1st to have controlled powered carry, besides the fact that many debates nonetheless rage over who the 1st particularly replaced into, particularly with the aid of attempt by making use of glen curtis and sameul langley (who replaced into partly with the Smithsoinian)

OMGosh! It's the friggin airplane for cryin' out loud! Read the book! No, infact think about it.
What can planes do that cars, trains, and buses can't?
Can you take a car, a train, or a bus to Hawaii?
If you take a plane Disney World or a car to Disney World which one would be faster?
Hum...
So, how did the plane change transportaton?

Think about flying versus land travel -- flying is faster for sure, but only certain people can fly planes, right? While you gain speed with flying, not everyone can actually pilot the plane, so you need skilled pilots to fly planes for passengers, which was a change from the common man who could drive a team of horses, right?
Something to think about...

obviously much faster, but a bit more expensive for those who wanted to fly
caused the decline of ship travel(nowadays people only travel by boat for cruises or if they're really poor)
of course, such effects took a long time to appear
