if youre indecisive you might want to go with the acoustic electric and see which one you like better, eventually, when you get better, you would want to get either a good electric or an acoustic.

It depends on what music you want to play. A hollowbody electric like a Gibson 335 is great for blues, rock, or jazz because of the pickups. It's got an almost endless variety of tone, from fat to biting.
An acoustic-electric like an Ovation LX Balladeer doesn't have the tonal possibilities that the Gibson has, but sounds so pure that it's a great insrument to own. It's great for fingerpicking country blues or folk music. And it's a lot less weight on your shoulder.
I'd choose the hollowbody electric because it's more versatile.

Depends on what you're going for sound-wise, and where you're playing...
Want an electric sound? Go for the hollowbody. Want an acoustic sound? Go w/ Acoustic/Electric...

If you are going to learn how to play a guitar you must buy an acustic guitar. If you already know how to play a guitar then this is up to you if you prefer an acustic or electric. But if you have enough money buy both but remember to learn how to play a guitar FIRST use the acustic.
