What The World Needs Now Is Love
From the Movie "Forrest Gump"
Performed by Jackie DeSannon
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No not just for some but for everyone.
Lord, we don't need another mountain,
There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb
There are oceans and rivers enough to cross,
Enough to last till the end of time.
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No, not just for some but for everyone.
Lord, we don't need another meadow
There are cornfields and wheat fields enough to grow
There are sunbeams and moonbeams enough to shine
Oh listen, lord, if you want to know.
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No, not just for some but for everyone.
No, not just for some, oh, but just for everyone.
Isn't it a beautiful lyrics? I truly love this song very much. When I feel despair & tired after a long day, I will just put on this song over & over again in my car, on my way back. I can feel a lots of love in the rhythm. By the time I get back home, I feel much better.

I'm leavin' on a jet plane, I don't know when I'll be back again.......leavin' on a jet plane etc.
It reminds me of when my now, husband and I stayed up all night talking and we watched Armageddon together. We met each other for two seconds before that night by an acquaintance who liked him. Don't feel too bad people she's happily married now!!!

That's a tough question because I have so many favorite songs.
I really love, "Whenever you call me, I'll be there." by The Spinners. Whenever I hear it on the radio I crank it up and sing along. I once recorded it when they performed on Dave Letterman.

I love "Freebird" too and pretty much all songs by Skynyrd, but my all time favorite is "Riders on the storm" by The Doors!! This song is just so cool and thought provoking!! Freebird is an excellent choice, oh wise one!

I'm On Fire by Bruce Springsteen.
Only because my Dad loves it (and he wouldn't know Bob Geldof from Britney Spears) and everytime I hear it I think of him.
