Attention Everyone There has been a Lotto Scam be aware Plz read?
Today i woke up and checked my mail well i got an enevolpe and inside it was a check for $1,995
I was so over whelmed well i read the letter and it said to call this number so they would know that i had recieved it . The woman informs me to get it cashed and put it in my checking account.Then i would recieve the whole lump sum of $120,000 in two business days. My boyfriend took it up to the bank to make sure it was real. Yes it was real but the only problem was that the bank they had given me in Lynn Massachuettes where the check came from never exsisted from this bank. There was an Eastern bank but the phone number on the check was from the Netherlands. So we called the ppl back to inform them that we had called the State Attorney and they freaked. What they didnt know is i dont have a checking account and that the check they sent me wouldnt go through for 10 business days. They thought i had money already in the bank and they were never going to send the other money. Just be careful

This scam has been around a long time. If it sounds too good to be true, forget it! There are many similar types of scams online.

i got that too but mine was snail mail. I looked up false lotterys online and got a website with a checklist and it tells you whether or not its real. The one I had was after you cashed it at first it would go through .. you would probably spend the money and then afterwards the bank would realize it was fake (I dont know how thats just what the website said) and you would have to pay all the money back!! Awful that they are robbing people that way

I got one yesterday. The same situation this morning after I called the local bank, and they mentioned the Netherlands. I second that warning and propose another of the same warning to be spread throughout the internet.

I get all kinds of junk mail saying that they need my help getting this money from a person that has died and has no heirs, and that I will get several millions of dollars bla bla bla. Any way, I sent a couple of them back and told them that I didn't appreciate them trying to scam me or my fellow countryman. They quit coming for quite a while and now I am getting a few again. After you contact them, they want you to send them money and you will get it back, most was from India and Pakistan.

Yeah, my daughter got scammed by someone that said they were with the federal grants and when she gave her checking acct # they took almost $5oo. out of it once and tried to do it again, but the bank knew about ot both times and so did the cops, so she didn't lose the money, she was reimbursed. Scary tho. Thanks for the input.

thank you for the warning, and i'm glad you were smart and told them you called your state attorney. that always scares the crap out of them.
