when my children were little, I used to think they should watch less movies etc. at school and not have homework. Now they are older, I make them do homework even if none is assigned. It helps them to have ownership of their learning experience and develop self discipline.

Yup. As annoying as homework is, it actually helps U. Without it, it would be harder to learn things.
Repetition helps U remember things and doing it in class then at home helps cause it's repetition.
Hope this helps...

Well homework is supposed to be our study tools, but I wish they didn't assign sooooooooo Much. Geez they don't have to break our backs.. don't they care how much heavy books we;re carrying everyday?

NO. kids sit and learn for 6-7 hours. they need after school time to play and discover and explore. you don't need a pencil and paper to learn. imagination and creativity needs to be practiced after school since there is not always that emphasis during the school day.

Probably not, since students ask Yahoo!Answers, to do their homework.
