I'm working with mostly neutral colours as i have mocha skin. So in addition to the application of eyeshadows, any colours anybody recommed?

The easiest way to blend shadows is to buy a color pallete-one with 3 or 4 different colors that are made to compliment each other. You first sweep the entire eyelid with the lightest color. Next, you take the middle color and sweep it across only the crease of the eyelid that falls in the middle. You can stop there, but for extra drama you can take the darkest color and use just the tip of the applicator included, or an eyeliner brush, and shade a small line across the very bottom egdge of the top eyelid, and then along the edge of the bottom lashes, so that it creates a circle of that dark color around the entire eye.
It's best to stick with neutral colors with darker skin tones-shades of brown, tan, and bronze. Once you get accustomed to doing all this you can experiment with colors that better compliment your eye color as well, and even the outfit you are wearing.

The mistake most do when first wearing eyeshadow is to put on too much-subtle is best for you wantt it to bring out your eyes not overpower them. With Mocha skin -the greens would look really good and for a special dress-up occasion some gold brushed lightly over the green. Also try the plum colors and Brown would look great too. Experiment-to find my colors got the cheaper compacts with 3-4colors then when I found the colors I really liked invested in the more expensive esp Lancome and EliZ.Arden for thos brand shadows are superb and also protect and condition the senitive eye area skin.

get a good quality brush. don't waste any time messing around with those little applicators that come with the shadows. shadow goes on sheerer, which is great if you're just starting out, and you don't end up with any harsh lines. just make sure to tap the brush on the side of the shadow pot to knock off the excess first so it doesn't fall onto your cheek.

as for colors, I'm just a pasty white girl who tends not to go too far away from light brown/gold shimmery colors. however, I have seen darker skinned girls wearing colors like white and bright green and turquoise and it looks soooo pretty.

Primer is really important, it doesn't have to be anything expensive either, I just use a little bit of lip gloss or chapstick that isn't harsh and put a tiny amount on my eyelids and spread it over the entire lid. It makes the shadow show up better and stay on longer.

Oh I had the SAME problem! Okay just buy a brown neutral pallette with 3 different colors. Apply the darkest shadow RIGHT above the crease and the medium shadow all over your lid and the lightest one at your brow bone. MAKE SURE YOU BLEND WELL! Do not use any other colors except for the 3 in the pallette!

if you' r just new then may be just try with a less eye shadow because you can always put some more later so try with a pencil liner and eye shadow on top of it that makes your eye shadow last long and really stands out well and you dont have to put that much of eye shadow becos the pencil does the most of work soo yeee...jst go for what u think is the best for you....good luck .. xoxox

Yes, the neutral & cocoa colors tend to look best, blending the colors together, to eliminate a "line" between the colors is key, and u can use just ur finger to do so.

put light colors on your browbone, and shadow your lids with a darker color. Turquoise pops on mocha skin, is a little dramatic, but if used as a liner, can be very flattering.

Give your lids dark brown eyeshadow then give light brown above it and white eyeshadow under your eyebrow.

Be sure to find the correct colors to complement your skin tone.
Also, start dark closer to the eyes and lighten up as you get higher.

Less is more..
