I am being harrassed by a telemarketer. I have begged, been nice and been really nasty to get them to stop calling. It is an online pharmacy company that I once ordered from 2 years ago. This is my cell phone they are calling and it does cost me money. I refuse to change my number to stop the harrassment. I don't feel that I should have to do that. Of course, I could not answer my phone but I don't feel I should have to do that either since I pay for my phone service and they have not been invited to call. My question is....Is it illegal for me to get an air horn and blow their eardrums up everytime they call? Nothing else has worked and I am at my wits end.

I have been on the DNC list since it became a law in 2003. I have renewed it since the calls started coming in. I have already told them to STFU and cursed them every way I can think of. Being nice didn't work so I resorted to doing that but it just makes me feel bad about it and they still call. I have asked for a supervisor and been told on several occasions that there are none available. The air horn is my last effort before I start recording the calls to take legal action. Not something that I want to do but I am running out of choices here.

I don't know if an air horn is illegal, but, it will get their attention.

You can also put your cell number on this government, Do Not Call List: donotcall.gov

They will stop calling:

This is my area of specialty in the law. What the telemarketers are doing is absolutely illegal. First, sign up for the national do not call list. However, there are several exceptions to the national do not call list that allow telemarketers to still call you. Therefore, when a telemarketer calls, ask to be put on their do not call list. If the telemarketers calls you after your request, you have a cause of action under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. File a claim in small claims court (it will cost you around $500) and you can get $500 to $1,500 in damages for each call you recieve. Also, if the telemarketer is calling you on your cell phone, this is illegal whether or not you ask to be put on their do not call list. Telemarkers cannot call you on your cell phone and it will get you $500+ in damages in small claims court. You don't need a lawyer to file in small claims court. Research the TCPA on fcc.gov , find out the name of the telemarketer's business (it is illegal if they don't tell you) and file your caim.

I don't think it's illegal for you to buy an air horn and blow their eardrums up, as a matter of fact, I encourage it! I think after 1-2 times, they wouldn't be calling anymore!

Good luck, and let me know if it works, I've got some people that I'd prefer not call me anymore, and I've had my cell # for 9 years!!!

Call the company and request to speak to a telemarketing supervisor. Tell them that you do not wish to to receive any more calls from them. If they give you a hard time...Make it clear that you will take a legal course of action if it continues. Then, give them a name of an att. in your area that you pulled out the phone book. (In case they check believe it or not some are just that asinine).

Buy the air horn. But it most likely is a computer calling you and then rings in to an operator.

you have to call 8883821222 gov# from ur cell phone that you want blocked and it will block it for 5 years. This is a national thing (or the donotcall.gov) will work also. I got a few on my cl ph until I did that. That will get rid of them.

A cellular telephone falls below a similar rules relating land-line telephones. in case you're being hassled by somebody, you're able to touch police, clarify the region and document a document with all pertinent tips and touch your provider service to alert them concerning the priority.
