Yes I would drive that car especially if it was black that era of monte carlo in my opinon is the best body style of monte there ever has been. Well it all depends on why she is driving an 85 monte if she is driving it because she likes the body style and takes care of the car and keeps it looking and running good then I would think she is alright in my book

The only problem I would have is the lack of power. The stock Monte's came with a gutless 305. A performance chip helped, but they still needed a 350 to really run.
I owned a '86 SS for 12 years, then it was stolen.

I wouldn't have a problem with it, but then again it all comes down to personal taste. I have always liked the body style of that generation Monte Carlo, and there is a lot of potential if you want to upgrade/customize no matter what you are into. One good example is a Marine who shows up regularly on Saturday nights when all the "old farts" get together with their vintage hot rods, but they have welcomed him in with his very fast and very clean 4th Gen SS Monte. If it runs, and you like it, then go for it.

I owned a 1985 SS. My friend that I bought the car from did away with the motor and put in a 350 c.i. mild cam, rollor rockers, 650 carb. After I painted the vehicle it was sweet. Loved racing that car around.

if the price is right ten dont pass it up these are called the G body cars and were from 78-87 with this body style they have a full length one piece frame and are very strong but they like to rust through in the rear frame rails by the back wheels, look inside the rear wheel tubs and see if the rails are solid and not eating through its a very common issue on the G body cars, the montes and cutlasses and regals, '78-87
it is hard to ifnd nice shape ones due to rust issuesand due to everyone stripping them out and dirt tracking them and therefore ruining them, they are getting hard to find in one piece and driveable
ppl will pay high dollar for nice ones, many thousands of dollars
good luck

late 80s were the stunning produced MCs that were rear wheel rigidity. I actually have a 2004 Monte Carlo Intimidator and it really is surely the front wheel rigidity. i'd have a tricky time pulling doughnuts contained in the motor vehicle parking zone. And to the first responder, NO, no longer all vehicles are rear wheel rigidity. vehicles could have 4-, all wheel-, or the front wheel rigidity. it surely relies upon on makes, fashions and commonly adjustments (i.e. Gravedigger)

I would drive this car its better looking than my Chevy lumina and its faster to. but I really don't care if a girl is driving a Monte carlo it does not matter to me. At least your not driving a Honda civic or a caviller and trying to race people.

I have an 88 olds cultass supreme(basically the same car). And a girl walked up to me and wanted to buy it from me so she could drive it. I thought that was awsome. Men love fast cars and fast women. Note to previous answer, they made G bodies till 1988 Olds made around 15k Cutlass Supreme Classics just like mine.
