Are homosexuality and pedophilia linked?

Why do homosexuals attempt to silence discussion and stifle intelligent debate on this issue?

If there is a link shouldnt we raise awareness in the interests of our children?

And if there is no link why are homosexuals up in arms over it instead of allowing science to reach a conclusion?

Homosexuals are sexually attracted to adults of the same sex, heterosexuals are sexually attracted to adults of the opposite sex, and pedophiles are sexually attracted to children. Adults are able to consent to sexual relations and children are not. Homosexuals and heterosexuals seek consenting relationships, pedophiles seek abusive relationships. Nobody is hurt in adult homosexual or heterosexual relationships, and a child is hurt in pedophilia. Homosexual and heterosexual people should both be free to engage in adult relationships, and pedophiles should be in psychiatric counseling and jail.

I'm not all up in arms over it; I'm just tired. As you typed in this question, didn't you notice all the other questions that were exactly the same thing? We've debated this to death.

I won't attempt to silence the discussion, because it needs discussing and it desperately needs intelligent debate, instead of impassioned rhetoric on either side. But I'm still tired of it.

My answer is no, of course not. Look at some of my other answers on the topic to see why- there is no evidence at all for such a claim about their being linked.

There is nothing for science to reach a conclusion on. Statistically, there is a much stronger link between heterosexuality and pedophilia. Approximately 90% of pedophiles are heterosexual; 10% are homosexual. Homosexuals get up in arms because they are not the perpetrators of the majority of sexual attacks on children yet they are the ones most accused by people ignorant of the facts of this horrible act. Wouldn't you be up in arms if you were being wrongly accused?

It's only linked in the minds of bigots. Science made it's conclusion when it decided homosexuality was *not* a mental illness, but pedophilia still was.

Why are they up in arms about it? Well, for the same reason you'd be up in arms if someone tried to claim that heterosexuality and fascism were linked.

When one discusses homosexuality and heterosexuality they are discussing ADULT SEXUAL ATTRACTION.

Pedophilia has NOTHING to do with ADULT sexuality or sexual attraction.

Case in point: John Wayne Gacy
Married Adult Male with two children

Was NOT classified as an Adult Homosexual. He was a PEDOPHILE or more appropriately a PEDERAST.
His attractions to adolescent males wasn't an adult sexual attraction but rather an attraction to non-gender specific children.
He had relations with and killed these boys because that is what he had access to.
Yes, we all know the story that he was a "rent-a-clown" but few know that his main form of income was his lawn care business which is where he had access to these adolescent boys. They were his employees.

Another easy case in point: Catholic priests. They have ACCESS to boys more often than girls.
Same is true for Scout leaders, who in the late 1970's and early 1980's were the equivalent to the Catholic Priest scandals.
These men are seen as authority figures and allowed access to boys.
The truth is four times more adolescent and pre-adolescent girls are molested than are boys of the same age. But the press doesn't say much about this because it isn't as scandalous and doesn't sell papers.

It is only linked in homophobes minds because it gives them just another excuse to hate. Why do homosexuals get so upset? Wouldn't anyone get upset if they were told that because they choose to love someone that means they are pedophiles? Think about it. What if one day "science" decided that all men who had black hair and, i don't know say green eyes and weighed more than 225 lbs were "linked" to all other pedophiles. Then what ... all men who fit that description should just shut up and live with it ... cause "science" says they could be pedophiles? Yeah that makes perfect sense. Just because someone says they are basing their theories on science does not actually mean it is factual. It means someone is trying to give themselves an out for being a bigot.

You obviously have done no research to back up your claims. Pedophilia is a sick perversion between an adult and an underaged child. Homosexuality is CONCENTUAL SEX between two adults. How do you bring the two together? Why "Protect" your children from homosexuals? Was Ted Bundy gay? How about the Son of Sam? sorry, cookie, but the majority of peadophiles and serial killers are, in fact, NOT gay.

There is absolutly no link between homosexuality and pedophilia. I am a gay guy and I am definatly not attracted to children or for that matter anyone whos not within 2 years of my age. Most people only bring up the issue when it comes to gay men, but never with gay females...and no matter who the person is whether they are gay, straight, or bi; male or female, it has to do with the chemicals in your brain and what you are personally attracted to. There are straight men attracted to female children just as there are straight men attracted to woman their age...and the same can be said for gay men. It is a stereotype and nothing more.

If someone accused you of being a pedophile based on your sexuality and nothing else would you not be offended? Most pedophiles just get off on children in general regardless of sex, they're power addicts and need to be stopped. Attacking gays because of them serves nothing but to distract people from the real evil.
