It can still be warm here in late December and early January...around 78-80. It drops down to about 65 in the evenings. There is very little rain this time of year also. Someone from the north would find it warm enough to wear shorts or jeans and t-shirts, but bring a few heavier items in case a cold front comes through. We had a cold front last week, and it actually dropped down to the 40's...but those kind of temps don't hang around for very long. My personal experience...great camping weather.

For the most part it's shorts and t-shirt weather- not humid but warm for the most part. It can get down into the 40-50's though, so a fleece jacket or vest over a hooded sweatshirt should be enough for the coldest temps. Not a huge difference between day and night weather - 10 degrees maybe, and I've tent camped without a problem in Feb- an I'm about 40 miles north of Miami.

Miami is normally in the mid 70's to mid 80's in December & Jan. Yesterday it was 87 degrees. T-Shirts and shorts or jeans are good all year round. It does not vary that much in the evening. Mostly in the 70's. Go to the Miami Visitor's Bureau online and they have all the info you will need.
As far as camping in a tent, I am not aware of many places in Maimi that would allow that. You can find a State Park where you can camp, but that would be a little to the North of Miami in Hollywood or Ft Lauderdale.

70-80 degrees for a high with little to no rainfall. temps can drop into the 50s and 60s during the day if there is an unusual cold front. camping and outdoor activities are great in winter as mosquitos are almost nonexistant.

Once in a while there's a cold front but most of the time its in the upper 70s.
