I think the Panama Canal links the Atlantic ocean with Pacific Ocean ,especially for the benefit of western coast of the South American Countries through the Middle American Countries upto Western United States of America. This creats the shortest way to reach in those mentioned western regions rather going to circular round the continents. Inthe mean time the canal will become Widened to transfer ships in easily and accessible way.
