Ask yourself this one, simple question; why would anyone offer you something for Free? "Free entry to our prize draw" for example?
It isn't because they have money that they are desperate to give away is it?
In fact, they are not giving anything away for free, because, whether knowingly or not, you are giving them something. I note that several people have pointed out that simply by clicking on a link, you enable the "generous giver" to load various spyware onto your computer, which will monitor and report everything you do and everywhere you go. This is all information that they can sell to advertisers.
But almost certainly you will eventually type in your credit card details, and that is a FAR more marketable piece of information.
But even if that is not what they are after, they will certainly ask for your email address, and /or your home address.
Have you noticed an increase in spam recently? That is because spammers buy email addresses from people who collect them, KNOWING that the email address is being used.
In any case, if I run an add saying "Win a car, just enter your email address here", then what proof do you have that there even is a car? There isn't a car of course, and you have no way of ever proving that, but I get 10p for selling your address to 10 spammers.
Always ask yourself what the motivation of the other person is, and if you can't see it, then don't follow the link.
Put simply, "there is no such thing as a free lunch".

Hello Flower,
I am of 16 and I am trying to win a new PC on Internet, I always search if there any offer that can give me a laptop or a PC. But I don't even get any offer, they all say just "you win a lottery" but all are fake, I have wasted a lot of time in this boring offers, so I think that you should also not pay attention to these offers as I do now.
But I still hopes that you will get something to win.

Almost none of them are legit but there is one site that a friend of mine swears by
http://www.mypoints.com
that allows you to fill out surveys and stuff in order to get gift cards and the like. She's actually earned several $10 gift cards to Target through it.
Most of the pop-ups just want you to click on them so they can install tracking cookies on your computer, though.

First it is the technique of advertising and it try to divert your attention. It is mostly spam, trying to get email addresses and some personal details. Some of them, send virus and spy or ad ware to your computer.

FLOWER, Don't waist your time on that, they try to ask you all kind of questions to get data about you and sell it for the people who send junk mail.
