it's called taking an active interest in furthering your own knowledge. Would you really remember anything if you didn't have to do those excercises teachers send you home with? Yes, homework sucks. Seriously though, it is incredibly important in securing you a successful future. Trust me, I have more than 3 years of college but that may not be enough for me to keep my job because they want people with University degrees.
You'll be a lot more tired if you work at a minimum wage job, or two, because you're trying to make rent.
School will be over soon enough and, when it is, you'll miss it.

I know lot of kids dont like to do homework. but sometimes, you need homework, to work on what you have studies at school, or an extension of what you have studied at school.

Maybe homework was given as an excuse to make parents getting involved with their children's studies.

Anyway the concept of giving monotonous work as homework has to go. instead the teachers could give homework with the view of encouraging the talent of the child.

Unfortunately most schools have homework except for one teacher at my daughters school. Most teachers are preparing students for the big wide world such as uni. Then you have to findand work out your times to do essaysand the like. I think homework is fine for things like studying for tests and extra research on projects. If you are a good student then you will have done most of your work at school.

Because it is practice that makes perfect. You need to practice something 24 times just to understand it 80% which is about a grade of a "C". How many times can you really practice a math problem, or a gramatical topic in class. Imagine how many times you need to practice to get an "A".
