We have no overhead light fixture and I think it would be a pain to start busting open the ceiling to add light....I do have a light in the ceiling near the living room that is actually in the entryway. Any products out there that might be an easy fix? Just trying to get better lighting in our DARK livingroom. Thank you.

The best option is always to put the effort into installing some nice down lights or pendants in addition to a couple of nice floor or table lamps, you'll appreciate it in the long run but I can understand your reluctance to start cutting up your cieling to run cable only to have to repair it. Remember though it's only a short period of inconvienience. Floor lamps would be the answer if you really don't want to do work. You'll need a combination of low lamps (about 5 foot high) and uplighters to wash the cieling in one corner. For a living room I would recomend 3, one in each corner away from your primary point of entry to the room with the uplighter in the corner behind the primary spot you sit to watch TV.

Track lighting is one idea, if you mount it on the ceiling it would light the whole room. Another thought is to purchase one or two torch lamps. Since they are open and facing the ceiling, they reflect light down into the room. This is was the solution at our house for several years. ; )

what about down lights, you can get flat ones that are easy to screw onto ceiling and the leads go up through ceiling, we put some in our ceiling an the only holes we had to make was little like pin holes to put wires through and the screws which you cant see as a round cover went over them, they are very nice, we got them off ebay, maybe go to ebay and type in light and see what it brings up. Or go to google images and type in lights it will bring up photo's of different types of lighting also try lighting in google images.
