i own a repair shop, and what cause this is usually a fuse if you find the fuse is good all the wires for the brake lights and the turn signals run through the steering column on this car,and if the turn signal unit is bad on it ,this will knock out the brake lights also i just got done doing a 92 model ,with the same problem that yours has and you have to pull the steering wheel off ,and feed the wires back through to get them out,so the unit can be replaced on it,,it s a good little job to do,but id check everything before i did this because this is not an easy job to do.,and you want to make sure this is whats wrong with it before you tear it apart,,bit I'm thinking that's it,,but check all fuses real good, and also check the brake light switch real good,on it,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

Hi, check the easy things first. Check the fuses and bulbs for the brake and turn signals. Turn on the 4 way hazard flashers and then check to see if the lamps are working in the front and the rear. If only the front lamps work you may have bad light bulbs in the rear. You are talking about two different circuits here. Brake and signal, the brake switch is usually mounted on or near the brake pedal. You can use a simple test light to check for power on both sides of the switch when the ignition key is in the on position with the brake lever pressed and depressed. You should have power to both sides when the switch it is depressed. With the key still in the on position move the turn signal lever and listen for the click sound of the turn signal relay. Check the lamps to see if any are working. Is the turn signal relay clicking faster than normal?

If you first lost hazard light, THEN the brake lights and signal lights, the problem is in the turn-signal / hazard switch, often installed on the steering column. However, the only way to know for sure is to check the wiring diagram of your model which would be in the repair guide for your specific model.

if it is the wiring then you'll have a heck of a time, the grounds are all over the place, safest bet is to have a dealer mess with it, if it is wiring
