I know that Brett Favre holds the record for QB, and that's all they ever talk about... but who holds the record for any position? Please add a link if you can. Thank you.

I know that Brett Favre holds the record for QBs, but who holds the record for any position. Jeff Feagles is not the answer, because punters don't get credit for a start, though he does have the record for consecutive games played. Jim Marshall has the record for consecutive games played for a single team at 270, and is second with 282 consecutive games played. I have looked at NFL.com and it only has consecutive games played. Does anyone know the answer and a link to verification of it. I would like something besides wikipedia, because it is unverified information. The one link already on here for an answer is wrong. Anyone?

288 Jeff Feagles, New England, 1988-89; Philadelphia, 1990-93, Arizona, 1994-97; Seattle, 1998-2002; N.Y. Giants, 2003-05 (current)

the lineman they are speaking of is Jim Marshall he started in 270 consecutive games at defensive end from 1960 to 1979.
He was a member of the Vikings' famous "Purple People Eaters."

Quoted from the link below:

"BRUCE MATTHEWS, offensive line

An incredibly durable player, and a versatile one as well. In manning every position on the offensive line at a Pro Bowl level, Matthews has set the NFL records for consecutive games played and consecutive starts. Only Reggie White, Jerry Rice, and Anthony Munoz have been to more Pro Bowls."

I believe it's Jeff Feagles (punter for the Giants) at 288 consecutive.

Favre holds the NFL quarterback record for consecutive starts with 232 (250 total starts including playoffs), and ranks second only to Dan Marino for total touchdowns thrown (409), completions(4,881), career passing attempts(7,962)

Im positive that its Brett Farve as QB and all of NFL. He is the Cal Ripkin Jr. of football. He has played in over 200 consecutive games. He has played through injury and even played the day after his dad died. He is tough but he should retire soon.

I think it is Jim Otto, a center for the Oakland Raiders in the 60's and 70's.

i remember seeing a graphic on it a few weeks ago. It was some offensive lineman which i think is more spectacular than farves because they take a pounding every play.
