no. DSL (via phone line) is a dedicated service that operates only on your telephone line. whether or not you can get dsl only depends on the quality of your line between your house and the telco central office. Factors include length, number of splices, quality of connections, condition of drop wire to your house, etc.. your neighbor has nothing to do with it.

uncertain. DSL rides on the copper pair from the significant place of work on your place, and that pair isn't shared by making use of all and sundry else (until eventually you have a multi-get mutually line, which was considerable yet are actually uncommon, in the event that they exist in any respect).

No. DSL is not affected at all by the number of folks on your hub. Only cable modem does that.

No. If you have a wireless network in your house make sure you have WEP if you dont then anyone in your neighborhood can have access to your connection. This may not answer your question, however, there is no way a neighbors connection can disrupt your connection, my opinion is to go with a cable connection.

no, DSL comes thru your phone line, so unless you share a line there shouldn't be any problem

On Cable Internet, yes. You are on the same cable. If they go down, you go down. If you are slow, they are slow. Cable Internet is faster on non-peek hours. However, in most cases Cable is faster. It depends on how cheap your cable company is, and the distance from the local server.
