i got into a fight about a month ago and the area between my left pinky nuckle and wrist has hurt since. the description is similar to the symptoms of a "boxer's fracture", but i'm almost certain that my hand is not fractured (because the pain is very minimal).....if u have experience with this let me know how long it took your hand to heal and how your hand functions today....thank you

Despite the fact that you have minimal pain, it could still be a boxers fracture. A lot of boxers fractures are simply small hairline cracks along the length of the bone. I have had many over the years, and they generally take about 6 weeks to heal completely. The only sign that my hand was ever injured is minor arthritis, mostly caused by the heavy construction and logging I've done in the past. Unless you have damaged the cartilage, there is no reason your hand shouldn't heal fine, without lasting effects.

Have you had an xray? A boxer's fx does not necessarily have to be extremely painful. Can you palpate any deformity along the length of the ray? Also, tap on the nd of your extended little finger to see if you have any "shooting" pain. If these things are present, you may have a fx. If it is not displaced, I would not be overly worried about it. I see this injury quite a bit.

Your hand is fractured. Go get it x-rayed.

And next time use a palm strike or learn to tighten your fist correctly.

My ex husband did that - punching a brick wall.
You might have that x-rayed- it could be a hairline fracture.
