My husband traveled 400 miles in the snow to buy a vibraphone to surprise me for Christmas. I played a set when I was younger, but my mom had to rent because we didn't have cash to buy it, nor did we have enough room for the full-sized intstrument. I mentioned this to my husband-to-be when we were dating and when he saw that this old jazz man was selling his vibes he borrowed a van and brought this splendid gift home to me. He built a barricade of wrapping paper around it in the corner of our living room and wouldn't let me near it until Christmas Eve that year. I burst into laughter and happy tears when I pulled the paper away and realized what he had done for me.

A book from my college English professor. I always thought that she hated me, but when I was done with her courses, she mailed me the newest book from my favorite author. It may seem odd to pick that as my most memorable, but it was the most thoughtful thing that anyone has ever given me, in my opinion.

i dont know why this one came into my head first but it was a monopoly deluxe edition when i was 8 or something...i got it from my grandma's younger brother...i played with it until i was like 12 or 13...i remember that one the most...

its my white furred teddy bear.
it was the last gift my mom gave me before she died. she died in 1988. its my most treasured possession.
