I own a 1993 Mercury Gran Marquis. For some reason, after having the car for a year, the transmission is slipping. The first gear, I have to rev a little to shift that gear. The second gear, feels like its grinding, but eventually it will shift. The third and forth gears work fine. My car is good on highway, but horrible on stop and go. Also i have to turn the overdrive off, to accelerate above 50. And the check engine light comes on. Now I tried putting Lucas stop slip fluid into the transmission, and that made things worst. Now it won’t shift into second at all. I’m guessing the Lucas did something to the burned fluid in their before. When I checked to fluid level, it was too high, and brown. I tolled it to the nearest mechanic, and tomorrow i will see if flushing the transmission will save it. Could there been anything else, other than replacing it. I’m in college and i really cant afford to buy another car.

Save the money you are going to throw away on the flush, because it will not solve your problem. Start saving for a replacement transmission, it is slipping.

STOP!!!! Do not flush your transmission it will only make things worse. As a certified technician and shop manager I have had to turn many people away from fluid changes of this nature. The best suggestion is to take it to a reputable transmission service center. It sounds like you have some serious internal problems. A transmission flush is meant for preventative maintenence. Unfortunatly you are beyond that point and may need to replace or rebuild your tranny. If that is the case then follow the manufactures specs and change the tranny fluid at those intervals and you will have a long lasting transmission.

You're going to have to get a new tranny or have it rebuilt. Sorry dude, but it's done with. Changing the fluid won't do a thing. If you want to prolong it a little more, you can try adding a tablespoon of brake fluid DOT 3 or 4 to the trans fluid.
Usually that will help the slippage temporarily until you can rebuild the trans, but it sounds like you're past that point.

You might really seriously think about changing your transmission filter. The Lucas stuff works but it is thick stuff and if you already have a somewhat clogged filter the thicker fluid will make it that much worse.
If the filter pan job doesn't improve things then your probably looking at buying a transmission.

I had a 1995 crown vic that had just about the same problems, I had the choice according to the dealer to either replace the transmission or have it rebuilt. I went to a junk yard and got a transmission out of a mustang and had them swapped out problem was fixed. Check engine light would come on occasionally.

If he's hiding lower than the mattress, which ability he doesn't experience properly, or he's purely fearful. purely go away his foodstuff and water by the foot of the mattress, and enable him devour it as he pleases. Cats have impressive instincts even as it includes coping with disease or harm, and he should be high quality in some days. If he refuses to devour his foodstuff or water for better than 4 days (3 days with out foodstuff isn't disastrous for a cat), you ought to have a vet study him. contained in the period in-between, attempt to study him for injuries/parasites, purely to be secure. If he has certainly been far flung from his abode for diverse months, then this may purely be feral habit (a cat's wild aspect). Don't waste your money on flushing something that is already burned... the problem is not with the oil.... It seems like the transmission is burnt...

Sorry...

Your first and second bands are worn and slipping. Did you think putting in something more slippery than tranny fluid would fix it?
