for the "witches" or the "hunters"?
The "witches" were tortured and killed by hanging or burning. If they drowned while "dunking" they were declared innocent! For the hunters, no consequences. In the Salem "witch trials" the prosecutors and officials were awarded all the land and possessions of said "witches".
