The best thing they could ever do if to open their eyes to the lies history told.
"So we are within our rights and with justice-- with justification when we express doubt concerning the ability of the white man to solve our problem and also when we express doubt concerning his integrity, concerning his sincerity, because you will have to confess that the problem has been around here for a long time and whites have been saying the same thing about it for the past 100 years and it's no nearer a solution today than it was a hundred years ago." Malcolm X
See what happen to those you trust in, "African Americans" wasn't slaves for 400 years. They were oppress for 400 years. Which proves you do not have to be a slave to be oppress. You will hear many argue they never own a slave nor have their fathers. That's misleading because over 95% of the oppression blacks face were not from slave owners or any member of the KKK. It was by a racist society, the Justice system, policeman, and the government and the reason these people are in power is because blacks couldn't vote. Like Saddam Iraqis couldn't vote which keep him in a position of power even beyond the people he represented because they could not vote. Which cause him to cause such cruelty to others.
So the biggest rise for black is not trusting in "the man".
"You must also have all your white servants and overseers distrust all blacks but it is necessary that your slaves trust and depend on us. They must love, respect and trust only us."
That prove what the Bible stated over 2000 years ago. "how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?"

African Americans have risen from slavery because we now have a voice. We have the right to vote. The right to read and get an education. Affirmative action helped African Americans get in the door to certain jobs that were not accessible. We have choices as to where we want to live, eat, go to school,work,etc..

I believe they rose up the most culturally and socially but still have problems with equality in other areas. Economy still seems to be a white man's world, except for a few niches in the entertainment industry I suppose but for the most part blacks are still a lot poorer and not as equal from a materialaistic point of view.
But I think the culture aspects have been the best thing really.
Just my opinion.
