I worked at Sears a couple of years ago, and it was awful. The management was terrible--I think in the entire year I worked there (as part time), my department manager maybe said ten sentences to me, and I'm still not sure that she ever knew my name. However, one of my friends worked at Sears (did the same job in another store in another city in another state) and she enjoyed it, so obviously it varies from store to store. The discount is pretty good. I worked as an MCA in softlines (working the floor, straightening, doing everbody else's errands), and I think we were the most mistreatead and taken advantage of--I would recommend working as a sales person in hardlines, where I think you make commission, or in shoes, or be a cashier.
