Zelda Twilight princess IS available on Gamecube or will be soon depending on where you live.
It is ALSO available on the Wii and a much better version if I do say so myself!

Gamecube does NOT play wii games just like GBA cant play DS games.

Wii plays Gamecube games as well as its own (obv) and technically it also plays Nes, SNES, Megadrive (Genesis) N64

You could always sell your gamecube you might not get much for it but it might help towards your shiny new Wii heehee

If you do that though make sure you keep a controller, Gamecube games need gamecube controllers :)

good question.
Unfortunately it doesn't work, video game consoles are only made to be backwards compatible(which would mean GC games can be played on Wii) but if they were made forward compatible(i.e. playing Wii games on a Gamecube) there would be no real incentive to actually buy a new console

Another reason its not possible, new games on the Wii try the best ot take advantage of the capabilities of the hardware, the Gamecube cannot possibly offer the same capabilities(again if it did, why buy a Wii)

No you can't. First because the game disc for the Wii games is the size of a CD and the game disc for the GameCube is smaller. Second, because the way you control Wii games is different, for example you can't press a button in place of swinging the Wiimote, which is how you play the GameCube. Sorry... if we could I would not have waited 31 hours in line at Walmart and spent $250 to buy it. :-) Maybe you should buy it, it's lots of fun.

Off course not. A Wii game is much larger than a gamecube game. The Wii has much different hardware than gamecube.

I own a Wii and zelda. My oppinion, best system ever with possibly best game ever. seriously.

I never buy consoles or games. Last console I bought new was PSone. I bought a PS2 used for GTA, but I have never had as much fun as i'm having with the Wii.

I already own 3 Wii games, zelda, need for speed, and red steel, and they are all great!

Seriously, button mashing sucks so much next to the Wii-mote! You get so immersed in the game with a wii.

To answer your question. NO. Wii plays GC & Wii. GC plays GC.

You people need to be more open, Wii is the future. Its too fun to ignore.

NO. the games won't fit in the GameCube. the gamecube could probably not be able to read the wii disk any way

Are you serious? Why would people spend an extra 250 dollars to buy a Wii when they can use their GC to play Wii games? Does that make sense to you? Of course not. There's a reason why people bought a Wii; it's to play Wii games.

Are you by chance related to the guy who asked if the PS2 can play PS3 games?

No, you can't because a GCN is only for its own games, you can play the games on Wii and the its new games but you can't fit a Wii game on a GCN. A Wii game is like the size of a DVD, and you knew the GCN slot is for its little disks games, did you?
GCN-(Nintendo Gamecube)
