the simpsons started that brand of comedy, the simpsons are the pioneers of their whole genre plus peter griffin is a knock-off of homer, lois- is marge, stewie is bart (little hellraiser) and the other 2 have the combined personality of maggie. the simpsons have been on for like over 10 years and are still running. no other show can stack up
anyone who says family guy is like 15-16

The first 7 seasons of The Simpsons are peerless. Homer and Marge are my parents and are a part of my everyday life. But now I can't stand the sight of the new Simpson's episodes. It's a completely different show these days. Mom and Dad are in desperate need of an assisted suicide. On Sunday night I watch the Family Guy and American Dad, but not The Simpsons. It makes me sick. Hey, King of the Hill is as good now as it was on it's first episode.

The Simpsons was funny for about 7 to 8 years. After that it was a shell of its former self. Family Guy was never funny at all. Not once.

Simpsions? I like both. Family Guy pushes the envelope and sometimes I don't agree with the content, but it's just satire. Once they became mature teenagers I would let them watch Family Guy. Simpsons is deffinately fluffier and appropriate enough for children to watch. They do talk about sex though so I would watch it with them to make sure everything was fine. I've grown up with Simpsons, so I would say Simpsons.

Its not a question of opinion. Simpons is one of the best thing US popular culture has ever produced. It is seen worldwide, quoted by politicians and the worlds most famous ppl scramble to cameo on it.
Family guy is v funny, and your humour may favour it, but simpsons is the best, when you think of its social critique and how much older than family guy it is (family guy is a copy of simpsons, or if not a copy, simpsons deffo lead the way for it)

Simpson's is better because I can watch it with my daughter. I dig Family Guy...funny ****...but not appropriate for a 7 year old.

Both of the shows are great in their own way. Family Guy is good because of all the sex, mild violence, and humor. The Simpsons are good because its a classic, but still funny
