I was reading replies to another question in which someone mentioned that regardless of your religion, you are still celebrating Christmas even if you don't call it that. How does that even work? Yule does not equal Christmas which does not equal Hanukkah which does not equal Ramadan and on and on.

I'm aware they're different and they belong to different religions and celebrate different things. I'm curious as how one would logically presume they were the same because they're obviously not.

Yule does celebrate the death of an old god and the birth/rebirth of another. To the not so religious like myself, it was a time to eat, drink, party and get fat because you couldn't grow anything.

If you are celebrating Christmas then you are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. If you are just happy that school is out and it is snowing then you are not.
Merry Christmas... Jesus is the reason for the season...

Hannukah is a Jewish holiday, Ramadan i think is muslim , kwanzaa is for african americans
