Fox news is known to be:
1- World News
2- Republican view
Lately, they have been showing stupid You Tube Clips, 1 hour coverage of a Zoo guy exhibiting some animals basically insignificant news coverage. Does this have something to do with the fall of Republican majority in congress. Is Fox news not getting as much "under-the-table" funding from republican since the mid-term elections? I thought Fox News was bad then but it seems they're getting worst. Would u agree?

I agree that they are getting worse, but I'm not sure that it's because of funding.

I think that when politics get more complicated, the public has two choices:

(a) to inform themselves about the situation (which means, since the right-wing is not doing too great right now, turning to more balanced news organizations)

(b) to be distracted by simple, flashy, easy-to-understand entertainment.

I think FOX is hoping that people will prefer to watch fluffy media, and therefore not be exposed to media that is critical of the right-wing - not to mention media that may be painful to watch, especially for those who feel betrayed by a government they originally trusted.

In other words, I think when FOX realizes that the right-wing agenda is losing favour with the American public, its back-up tactic is to at least keep them distracted by little things, so that they don't educate themselves about the bigger ones.

Does that make any sense?

Good luck & happy critiquing!

EDIT: To those who are arguing that FOX news is balanced, have you read the internal memos? http://www.wonkette.com/archives/fox-news-memos-the-whole-batch-017613.php or http://mediamatters.org/items/200407140002

Besides, the question asker wasn't discussing leftist news organizations...this is about FOX.

What do you expect the Republicans lost the election they are in complete shock. That's a stupid actuation now you don't know they were ever getting funding under the table. Wild statements like that without proof doesn't bode good for the democrats.

particular they're valid information. you purely ought to nicely known the version once you're staring at information in assessment to opinion. as an instance, Sean Hannity and Alan Combs do no longer declare to be independent. there is isn't plenty a information application then a theory scary debate application. bill O'reilly on the different hand is information. some disagree yet incredibly, the rightys think of he's a lib and the libs think of he's a righty. he's neither. He does not sell out for any occasion. people are clever and that they see that and subsequently his coach is consistantly variety one interior the information rankings.

Scott's got the best answer so far. It's concise and extremely accurate. And it makes me wonder where you're getting your perspective. The networks Scott names and FOX have been known for YEARS to be liberal rags and just trash reporting. Where you get the "Republican funding" stuff is beyond me. God Bless you.

Fox News is the TV equivalent of a tabloid magazine, which has been smoking crack. You expect quality journalism?

I consider myself a conservative and I am a former Republican. It has stunned me how far Fox News has taken the Republican party to the rich. I said rich because I am for a balanced budget and Fox News has convinced it's viewers it is good for the country to give tax breaks to the wealthy because 2% of them help create jobs. It has convicted it's viewers that Obama somehow bypassed congress and took the annual Federal budget deficit to 1.4 trillion dollars a year. Congress never passed that kind of spending increases. Well, Obama only pushed though an 850 billion dollar stimulus. If you think Obama somehow pushed though Congress a trillion dollars of extra spending { yearly} your brainwashed. If you think the housing crisis was caused by giving loans to minorities, but it is obvious that most of loans were given to white people: your brainwashed. If you think Obama birth certificate is an issue your brainwashed. The Republican party is controlled by Fox News which is nothing but big corporations controlling what people think.

CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC are know to be:
1-World News
2-Liberal, athiest, socialist, ACLU view.

Maybe they are tired of showing all the train and plane wrecks the other networks rush to.
