Oh I know exactly what you mean. Actually that's how I got into yahoo answers in the first place. I knit for hours on end some days and so I move from one seat to another from time to time, (sofa to computer chair and back) When I'm in here, I take a break from knitting every few rows to give my muscles and eyes a break. It doesn't completely prevent it but it helps.

I'm knitting a sleeveless hoodie for my nephew for christmas at the moment.

I have the same problem while scrapbooking. Every now and then I pull my shoulder blades together, opening my shoulders and chest. Make sure your shoulders aren't scrunched up at your ears, too. With knitting, do you sit on the couch? Maybe a heating pad or one of those things you can put in the microwave and drape over your shoulders would help. Just rememebr to keep your shoulders pressed down, tilt your neck from one side to the other to loosen the muscles (try to 'touch' one ear to the same shoulder), and pull your shoulders back, trying to touch your back shoulder blades together. This helps keep my muscles from cramping up.

Do your fingers get dry from the yarn? My fingers and nails get dry from handeling the paper. I use lotion often, and drink alot of water.

Happy Knitting!!
