Awwww....pass me the tissues!!! That was sooo sweet. I have had pets in the past and ALWAYS got them from a shelter. My current sweetheart is a ferret called Freddie which I got from a shelter and I adore him. Pets are way cheaper from shelters too, the guys who work there can tell you something about the pet you're looking at adopting, many of the pets have had their shots and are neutered already and you often get food, toys and bedding thrown in too so everyone's a winner!!! xx

If you are thinking of a pet for Christmas please wait! Christmastime is such a chaotic time to bring a new pet into the family.
There are many dangers and often too much excitement especially for a puppy. And please never give a pet as a gift unless you are sure that the recipient not only wants it but has the means and the know how to give it a proper home.
Once the holiday rush has settled down, please do go to the animal shelter and adopt yourself the best friend you will ever have!

Agreed, but don't take these poor dogs then dump them, enough of that happens already in this world and it is extremely sad to read the papers after christmas and see all the rejected dogs and cats looking for homes.
