i started mine august of the 5th grade (10 years old) had it for a week and then it didn't come back till exactly a year later in august of 6th grade year when i was 11...weird i now but so is the human body. I've heard of people starting at 9 all the way up till 18. if you haven't started by 18 you need to see the doctor because something could be seriously wrong. i was probably 5'2 im now 5'8 at 18 (alot of growing) but not only does age affect it but so does weight, athleticism, nutrition, and genes, so it all depends.

My period started when I was 11 and that was when I was at summer camp. I thought I was bleeding to death. Our cabin counselor had to teach me what to do and what was happening.
