My favorite legend is the 1991 Acura Legend.
But you should write about the Rip Van Winkle and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Rip fell asleep and didn't wake up for 20 years. The significance of his long nap never hit me until I put some age on, looked back and wondered where all that time went.

Beowulf is a GREAT story to do a report on.
As is Gilgamesh.
theyre both epic poetry (not the rhyming kind though) and have inspired countless other stories and titles.
in fact, that story of superman fighting doomsday years ago was inspired by Beowulf taking on the Grendel and Grendel's Mother.
