which engine would be faster and or more suitable for his imagenary car, the the 426 Hemi with twin 4 barrels, or the 440 six pack. Any differances in performance would impress him. me I had a volkswagen

I would go for the six pack 440. The torque and horsepower is pretty close to a dual quad Hemi, but the coolness factor of a sixpack can't be beat

The 426 hemi with twin 4 barrels would be the fastest. It must be a B block of course. This engine has more torque than the 440. And if I'm not misstaken it was rated at 425 H.P.and 450 feet pounds of torque.

The Hemi! More HP with a touch less torque than the 440. But this can made up with correct gearing for neck-snapping launches.

The hemi
I used to have a Cuda 340 that could take a 440. I had a Challenger that could take a 340. My neighbor had a 65 or 66 with a Hemi. He'd blow us all away.

I would take the 426 any day over a 440.

426 hemi 2-four barrels four-speed with a pistol grip shifter coolest and fastest production car ever !!!!!!!!!!!! pull them front tires ya!
