You can design your own ring at some websites.

You can also get smokin rings on ebay cheap.

Sorry I don't have any ring pictures but here are some ways to narrow it down and hopefully find the best one you can. First define your girlfriends personality. Is she outgoing, loud, or more quite and reserved? The more outgoing the more ornate, and decorative I would go, the more reserved a more simple look. Is she classy, if so maybe a single diamond, or is she very into the now trends and wants something on the edge, daring. Things such as that. And last but not least keep a reasonable price range in mind - you don't want to go broke over a ring, I know that is the non-romantic finnancial part of me talking, lol.

First, it might help to have some idea in your mind of ring style. For example:

+ delicate or "chunky"?
+ simple or ornate?
+ stone sticks out from ring OR ring rises gradually into stone?
+ coloured stone or plain diamond or just metal?
+ room for engraving?
+ unique/unusual or classic?

With these choices made, you can look into custom rings, have something specific to ask of a jewelry representative at a shop, or simply have a better idea of what to look for...or we can be a little more specific in our answers!

Personally, I'd opt for a diamond claddagh ring. Here's a pretty one: http://www.fallers.com/cart/view_product_detail.php?product_id=1740&category_id=12 These rings, which have hands clasping a heart-shaped stone wearing a crown, actually have significant meaning: if the heart points outwards, it means your heart is seeking, and if the heart points inwards, it means your heart has found its desire.

I think it would be nice to offer your partner a claddagh ring to wear outward, and you can turn the ring inward during your wedding ceremony. If you are a same-sex couple, you can also both wear these rings, without there being an expectation of one person wearing the "masculine" band and the other wearing the "feminine" ring.

The website http://www.loveandpride.com/ also has a selection of rings designed for queer couples, and my god are they gorgeous!

I also think antique wedding rings are beautiful, as they are often better designed and more unique than contemporary rings...look at all these, some are downright breathtaking: http://www.antiquejewelrymall.com/april.html?page=0&sf=&sd=#sortblock

You might also consider checking out the websites of jewelry artists, who sometimes have very pretty works: http://www.guild.com/artists/jewelry.html

Or, if you're totally stuck, even though it's only about $50, I always thought this would be beautiful: http://www.elsewares.com/commerce/Flying-Bird-Ring_MPD838.html

But then, I have strange taste.

Congratulations, best of luck, & happy ring-hunting!

I wish you all the best. Can you talk about whatever is on your mind with her and can she do the same. Honesty and communication are building blocks to a relationship. The hardest thing to do at first is being totally 100% honest because you think you might hurt their feelings. However, you will find a deeper respect for yourself when you can voice your opinion whether you are right or wrong. You can always apologize from the heart if your wrong.

There are many sites online that you can design your own ring or browse store options. First decide size and kind of stone, then decide what kind of cut. Bridal Planning Books really help with this. They even include national gem registry sites. Research gem sites and maybe you will have a better idea of what you are looking for. GOOD LUCK!

I think something elegant and simple would be appropriate. A few hundreds of years ago, saphires were given for engagements rings (I think Princess Dianna had one), you might consider that as it's different and unique. I hope all goes well with you. She will love anything you pick out. Godloveya.

this is going to sound materialistic, so im really sorry. go at least bigger than a half a carat... i know i know it doesnt matter, but when girls are around each other, they talk about " wow its so big!" my ex did give me a small one, and i wasnt impressed that he didnt take the time to save up money... when i knew he couldve.. again, sorry to sound materialistic. some women take the size as a symbol of how much your man actually cares about you
