Yes I had to have a total hysterectomy because of cyst on my ovaries and I'm only 27 years old. I had it about 3 months ago and the only thing that I really had to deal with was depression because I thought that I was too young and I really wanted to have kids. Good luck to you I hope all goes well.

Ten years ago I went through the same thing. I had two tennis ball cyst removed off of both ovaries. Before I had the surgery I could not go a day without back pain and my sides hurt so bad. I had a lapascopic surgery (surgical incision below my belly button about an inch). I was sore for a couple days but the pain was gone. Just recently I've been diagnosed with yet another cyst on my left ovary and at this time I am on hormone treatment. Keep your doctors appt and follow up with a second opinion if your not sure. Good luck.

I had an ovarian cyst removed when I was 17. My doctor thought my appendics had burst and sent me to hospital immediately...
In those days they had to open you up for appendicts removal, but when they opened me up they found a cyst 6inches by 4 inches ....
My symptoms were exactly like what you have described.
Well, The cyst was removed and that was that ... all's good :) ...
Have two lovely kids and there was never a question of affecting fertility in any way ..
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
